Challenge

Oftentimes, families cannot afford backpacks for their children to use for school. However, backpacks and school supplies are critical for a thorough and productive education. As poverty is a major issue facing Gazans, it is important to supplement children with items they will need for success in school.

Solution

980 backpacks and school bundles were distributed to school-children in Gaza.

Each bundle included:
  • 1 Backpack
  • 12 Notebooks
  • 12 Pencils
  • 2 Erasers
  • 2 Rulers
  • 2 Sharpeners
  • 1 School Supplies Box

Providing the essentials for school can make a massive difference in a child’s education. Feeling prepared leads to feeling empowered and focused. Helping make even the most basics for school available to these children has dramatically increased their chances of a productive year.

Distribution

A total of 980 backpacks and school bundles, which included 12 notebooks, 12 pencils, 2 erasers, 2 rulers, 2 sharpeners, and 1 school supplies box were distributed to children of a kindergarten in Gaza.

Long-Term Impact

Helping prepare students for success in school helps them for years down the road. Providing tools for a more functional education will build their knowledge, confidence, and ability to make a positive change in their lives and those of others. This was our 2nd Annual Gaza Backpack project, with many more to come.
